Tax Cuts For All Australians

The Albanese Government is delivering a tax cut for every taxpayer in Werriwa starting on July 1.

Labor’s new tax cuts are designed to provide cost-of-living relief to middle Australia while making our tax system fairer.

Around 80,000 people – every taxpayer in Werriwa - will receive a tax break from July 1 under Labor’s better tax cuts announced by the Prime Minister and Treasurer.

The average tax cut will be $1,408.

Around 71,000 people, or 89% of taxpayers in Werriwa, will receive a bigger tax cut than they would have had under the plan Scott Morrison legislated five years ago.

The average Australian wage earner on $73,000 per annum will receive a tax cut of $1504 which is more than $800 extra in their pocket each year than they would have received under Scott Morrison’s proposal.

Community Scams Forum

I will be hosting a Community Forum with the Assistant Treasurer, the Hon Stephen Jones MP, to discuss scams and how to keep yourself safe online and when answering the phone.

There has been significant interest and spaces are limited.

If you are interested please contact my office to secure your place.

If you are unable to attend, my office can provide a copy of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission's 'The Little Black Book of Scams', a useful resource on scams and how to protect yourself.

Campbelltown Medicare Urgent Care Clinic

The Campbelltown Medicare Urgent Care Clinic at 296 Queen Street is now open and providing urgent medical care for our community.

The clinic provides urgent medical care for things like minor fractures, sprains, minor infections, respiratory illnesses, mild burns, severe stomach pains, or urinary tract infections.

You don’t need an appointment or referral. You can walk in and be seen by a highly trained doctor or nurse in a GP setting.

It’s walk-in, bulk-billed and open extended hours, 7 days a week.

Back to School

With the return of the 2024 school year, I would like to wish students, teachers and parents all the best and remind everyone to stay safe on our roads as school zones return.

Families in Werriwa are encouraged to check if they are eligible for free home broadband through the Albanese Government’s School Student Broadband Initiative (SSBI).

The initiative has been extended through to 31 December 2025, meaning even more families can benefit from a free home broadband connection for longer.

Families are encouraged to check if they are eligible by contacting the National Referral Centre on 1800 954 610.

Supermarket Inquiry

With cost-of-living pressures front of mind for so many Australians, Labor has appointed Dr Craig Emerson to lead an independent review into the Food and Grocery Code of Conduct.

The Review is focusing on making sure the Food and Grocery Code is providing adequate protections for suppliers to encourage a competitive food and grocery sector.

This will ensure that farmers, suppliers and shoppers are getting a fair deal.

Fee-Free TAFE in 2024

By 30 September 2023, Fee-Free TAFE had already supported over 296,000 student enrolments, smashing the election commitment of 180,000 enrolments.

Fee-Free TAFE is supporting places in areas of high demand and is supporting students by removing financial barriers to study.

An additional 300,000 Fee-Free TAFE and VET places will be made available between 2024-2026, with $414.1 million investment by the Commonwealth, in collaboration with the states.

I encourage members in our community to assess their eligibility and view the courses on offer via the button below.
