More Medicare Bulk Billing

This is really big news, so I’ll get straight to the point –

The Albanese Labor Government is delivering more bulk billing for all Australians, so you can see a GP for free.

Everyone in Werriwa should have access to a free, bulk billed doctor. That’s why we’re making the single largest investment in Medicare ever.

Now, for the first time, we’re expanding the bulk billing incentive to all Australians and boosting payments to GPs that bulk bill every patient.

This will mean:
 

• 18 million more bulk billed GP visits every year

• Three times as many bulk billing clinics

• 9 out of 10 GP visits will be bulk billed by 2030

So far in Werriwa, there are 17 fully bulk billing practices and more will join.

After a decade of cuts and neglect by the Liberal Government, bulk billing was in freefall. We’re turning that around.

That’s why we’re also delivering:

• More free Medicare Urgent Care Clinics, for walk-in urgent care.

• Even cheaper medicines – no more than $25 a PBS script from January.

• More free mental health support.

• Training for thousands more doctors and nurses.

From seeing a doctor to getting the medicine you need, you shouldn’t have to worry about the cost. As your local Member for Werriwa, I’ll continue working to make that a reality for everyone in our community.
