Delivering 180,000 Fee-Free TAFE Places

Skills Ministers across the country are collaborating on a $1 billion 12-month National Skills Agreement commencing in 2023 to strength the TAFE sector.

The Labor Government is delivering on it’s promise to deliver 465,000 fee-free TAFE places over the next four years with 180,000 to be delivered in 2023.

“Our Government understands that the key to good, secure and well-paying jobs is education. That investment in our TAFE sector is important, especially for the electorate of Werriwa” said Ms Stanley MP.

The Albanese government is working with the states and Territories to ensure that vocational education can help alleviate the current skills-shortage and support Australians in upskilling.

The costs of the 180,000 places delivered next year will be split 50:50 with the States and Territories.

The final details will be settled in September with the States and Territories with a focus on addressing the highest priority skill needs and supporting Australians seeking jobs.
