Delivering Local Priorities in Werriwa
It was great to host the Minister for Regional Development, Local Government and Territories, the Hon Kirsty McBain in Werriwa this week to see the upgrade of roads and parks that have been funded by grants from the Albanese Government.
This funding will significantly improve road safety across Werriwa.
"Since my election I have been advocating for more practical support and delivery of better roads and parks for our growing community" said the Member for Werriwa, Ms Anne Stanley MP.
"I am pleased and excited that the Albanese Government has recognised this and is funding improvements to areas all over the electorate."
"Without our significant investments in Werriwa and funding increases across federal programs, local projects would not have the funding to get off the ground."
Liverpool City Council will receive 5.4 million thanks to Labor.
Projects currently being delivered and fully funded by the Albanese Government under RTR include:
- Surface, gutter and kerb improvements along Gabo Crescent at Sadlier
- Resurfacing of Hill Road at Lurnea
Over 11.22 million committed under Phases 1-3.
Projects funded under Phase 4 of the LRCI program include:
- Improvements to Pye Hill Reserve Cecil Hills - 400,000
- Planning works for the reconstruction of Lyn Parade - 825,000
This is on top of over 1.1 million for five local road safety projects across Liverpool City Council under the Road Black Spot Program.
At the 2022 Election, 10.5 million in untied Financial Assistance (FA) Grant funding this financial year - significantly boosting their capacity to ensure local infrastructure is fit-for-purpose, and to deliver a range of projects that will boost liveability in Werriwa.
