More Australians take up the Commonwealth Seniors Health Card

The Commonwealth Seniors Health Card (CSHC) provides eligible Australians with cheaper medicines, access to the concessional threshold for the Medicare Safety Net and other benefits from state and local government.

More than 10,000 additional older Australians and veterans have access to the Commonwealth Seniors Health Card following changes to the income thresholds in November last year.

The thresholds were increasing to $90,000 for singles and $144,000 for couples.

“This will reduce the cost-of-living pressures on our older Australian and these changes will be permanent, providing ongoing assistance,” said Ms Anne Stanley MP.

Eligible Australians are encouraged to lodge a claim via myGov or by visiting a Service Centre.
